Joyce Kamande is the Physical Sciences Technology Licensing Analyst for the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC). Prior to joining OTC, Joyce was a fellow at the Office of Commercialization and Economic Development (OCED) at the University of North Carolina (UNC) - Chapel Hill, where she assisted in the vast portfolio management of invention disclosures from UNC’s School of Dentistry and UNC/NC-State joint Biomedical and Engineering Department.
Joyce obtained her Doctoral Degree in Chemistry from Louisiana State University and thereafter performed her postdoctoral studies at UNC-Chapel Hills’ Biomedical and Engineering Department for three years. Her graduate and postdoctoral research studies were focused on the development of microfluidic platforms for Cancer and Neuronal research. Joyce is an author of several published research articles as well as an inventor for a patent pending device fabrication platform. Joyce also worked for Xona Microfluidics LLC., a microfluidics based company that provides the neuroscience community with disposable platforms to sustain viability in vitro to cellular organization in a capacity of R&D and product development.
