There is a great demand for anti-inflammatory agents for prevention as inflammation has been associated with many conditions such as cancer, heart disease etc. Natural food components are considered safer than synthetic drugs and may have better utilization in prevention, while drugs may be preferred for people who already developed a disease.

Researchers have discovered the potential use of seed oils and meals as anti-inflammatory materials. These oils and meals are traditional food components and can been used in functional foods to affect the prevention of inflammation associated health problems.
